“I thought you were more famous than that?” Someone actually said this to me recently.
At first I laughed, but I knew why she said that. Because I made it happen intentionally – positioned myself as a Leader – and that’s exactly what happens when you show up consistently with valuable content.
This person had been in my ecosystem for just a few months. Because of the high visibility from consistently putting out Helpful, Humanized content, they assumed I had a massive audience. They felt like they saw me everywhere, even though my audience isn’t huge.
Here’s the lesson:
You don’t need a massive audience to have massive influence.
Your authority and impact happen on an individual level.
When you consistently share valuable, humanized content, you build relationships at scale.
It’s like having hundreds of one-on-one conversations—without having hundreds of actual meetings.
This is the power of digital leverage: Your blog, emails, and social posts work together to keep you top of mind, even when you’re not “in the room.”
You don’t need to be “famous.”
You just need to be visible to the right people, consistently showing the value you bring.
